The best Modern Casual furniture pieces

We love Modern Casual design – and we know you do too!

Check out some of the best Modern Casual pieces available at by Design. And come it to let us design a room just for you in whatever style suits you best!

Baur Chair. Lush seating of ebony top-grain leather fastens to grey birch framing via trend-forward buckles. Angular arms honor mid-century design, adding a throwback feel to a cutting-edge look.

Marley Sofa. This new Kim Salmela design uses round wood feet, an optional wood base and a single seat cushion to create a wonderful Modern Casual look. Available in sofa, sectional and now a grand sofa.

Teak Stool. Natural teak roots add a touch of organic texture to spaces indoors or out. Each has unique character, with dramatic highs and lows in the finish. Over time, teak weathers and greys in the sun for a found feel.

Sampson Desk: Distinctive lines, sleek scale, and ample storage. Greyed oak desktop contrasts with brass-clad drawer fronts in antiqued brass finish.

Boomer Bistro Table: A rectangular slab of weathered hickory provides a solid base to offset a slender aluminum neck before dramatically brimming into a round tabletop. Light gunmetal finish reveals industrial texture and metallic edge.

Wharton Stool: Slim lines and mixed materials combine for ample comfort. Architecturally inspired steel tubing is graced by simply contoured distressed brown seating.

Beaufort Mirror: Cool & Fascinating. Half in antique nickle finish and half in mirror finish.

Intersect by Jess Engle: Linear and high-contrast. Austin-based artist Jess Engle employs curved, intersecting lines for a clean, abstract look. Printed on 100% cotton canvas and framed within black American maple.

Aesop Magazine Rack: Mid-century styling meets modern detail. Brown leather slings from a slim, black metal frame to hold papers and periodicals. Top handle is leather-bound for easy transport. Cross-stitching adds an artisan touch.

Tinsley Coffee Table: A drum-style tabletop of Australian hardwood is finished in a distressed grey, maintaining materials’ natural texture. Slim iron legs adopt a copper tone, staying airy and open to balance the weight of solid wood. Choice of two finishes.

Jefferson Bed: Bring a hint of Old Hollywood glamour to the bedroom. High, shelter-back bed is upholstered in creamy tones with shallow button tufting and a double row of steel nail heads accenting each dramatic wing.

Tribal Faded-Black Rug: Authentic Dhurrie rug is hand-knotted from 100% cotton. Faded black background is printed with a tribal motif for a global-inspired look. Like all handmade rugs, size and color may vary slightly.

Benjamin Table Lamp: Slate-finished aluminum forms a rectangular block, topped by a rounded white poly-blend shade.

Simien Bookshelf: Warm material, coolly caged. Thick slabs of mango wood are finished in weathered hickory for rich depth, then inset against a gunmetal iron frame for a modern-industrial spin on book storage.

Darrow Bench: The ottoman, re-invented. Cunningly shaped and distressed, flatstock iron supports a spare-yet-comfortable tan cushion in aged, top-grain leather.

And there is so much more. New introductions constantly vie for our affections (what can we say, we’re capricious). Come by and visit us – we’d love to plan a Modern casual room for you!!
