A Townhouse That Invites Family (especially grandkids)

I’ve been working with a delightful couple. They’re empty nesters, and they’ve decided to move to a townhouse in Des Moines that is closer to their kids and grand-kids.

Their townhouse is big enough to accommodate their large family gatherings. And — we’ve put together a design that will do just that. And looks spectacular too!

In the first photo, we’ve placed the furniture, but haven’t accessorized. Two Blake sofas, two Linkin chairs and a large Baxter ottoman with hidden storage.

Then we add the comfy shag rug (very inviting for the grand-kids) and begin to place extra pillows and add in the sparkle of accessories.

I really like the way this room comes together. I think it is very sophisticated — yet very inviting and comfortable.

See the two little Pablo leather ottomans over in the corner? We’ve used them to add a bit of  flexible extra seating.

Right above them, the Eiffel sculpture & artwork  evoke favorite travel memories (and tell a bit more of the story) of this great couple.

This was a really fun project!
