I have had a passion for design, particularly interiors, since the age of 12. I love to create spaces that are both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The psychology of color and function of space fascinate me; I truly believe good design can change the way we live.
These interests led me to earn my BFA in Interior Design from Iowa Sate University in 2007. I am also an active member of IIDA (International Interior Design Association), and sit on the board of the Great Plains Chapter as Board Secretary.
Growing up in the Midwest has made me aware of my surroundings and created a belief in socially conscious design. This led me to become a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional in 2008.
Before by Design, I worked in commercial design, which gave me the opportunity to work with a variety of clients – and reinforced the importance of first listening and then designing.
My values include Integrity, Honesty, Communication, and Quality. They are my foundation as a person and a designer. I welcome each design experience and look forward to working with you to achieve your unique design aspirations. See you soon!
